I think nowadays default way of listening to music is alone. It's just you, your thoughts and the music. Yeah, you can go to a concert, be with people in a crowd. But there's something special in enjoying music with your close friends. Like as if your brain is hard-wired to feel this bond with other people when listening to music. I also think that's why songs with choir parts hit different. It's as if you're not alone, there are more people who sing this song and feel the way you feel.
